Human Element Architects was chosen to transform the abandoned, 42,000 sq. ft. T.J. Applebee's corporate headquarters into 50-60 high-end assisted living units. Through creative re-purposing of existing building amenities such as a third floor atrium and other building services, a plan for 52 residents was successfully delivered. The finished design included living quarters, dining facilities, medical and dental offices, administrative spaces and quality of life amenities such as a hair salon, a chapel, and multipurpose rooms. The result provides a warm, amenity rich environment for the residents while maximizing profitability for the owner.
