As the Architect for the Design/Build team tasked to increase and update the functionality of an existing laboratory, Human Element Architects transformed the closed, outdated spaces into a modern, open environment.

With the goal to support team-based research and maximize research areas, plans included engineering flexibility within the designs, assigned space for shared equipment and areas where individuals can collaborate easily with their team members.

The project resulted in designs that included a functional and collaborative laboratory that met all of the FDA's criteria while adhering to their budgetary restraints.
