The Mayaguez Cancer Center in Puerto Rico exercised several architectural disciplines within one project. Accommodating a renovation design while the facility was occupied was the major challenge, since a vault renovation was required within the first floor renovation plan. The renovation included repair to the exterior of the vault, as well. In addition, designs for the second floor needed to address renovations for upgraded CT equipment, along with interior renovations to accommodate patient rooms and administrative office space.
